Faculty members/Students between Kawasaki Gakuen and Green Templeton College, University of Oxford
A Memorandum of Understanding Between Green College (GC), University of Oxford, Oxford, UK and The Kawasaki Gakuen (KG) was adopted on July 2002, and since then a steady exchange programme of fellows/students between Kawasaki Gakuen and Green College has been successfully executed. Green College was established on September 1st, 1979, and was officially opened in 1981. Being one of the youngest graduate colleges in Oxford, it was also one in which there was a greater representation of clinical medicine compared with other colleges in Oxford. Since 2003, ten faculty members of Kawasaki Medical School and two members of Kawasaki University of Medical Welfare visited Oxford in order to develop their teaching interests or pursue research, and ten fellows and two students of GC visited our campus. In October 2008, Green College merged with Templeton College to become a new college, Green Templeton College (GTC), and areas of academic activity of the new college include Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, History of Medicine, Medical Anthropology, Business and Management studies, Social Policy, Environmental studies, Education, Journalism and various synergies between these disciplines. At the annual review meeting on 15th September 2009 in Kurashiki, KG and GTC confirmed that the existing collaboration and exchange programme agreement is serving well.
